Eve of Children's Day

It's the eve of Childrens' Day and I spent the morning ferrying the kids to and from school. Ryan got back late , only fetched him about 1.45pm but even then he was bouncing around although he fell asleep later while drinking milk.

While the kiddos are asleep (now), I am taking the opportunity to complete an LO (should it be 'a' LO? or an 'LO'. For the uninitiated, LO = layout , as in scrapbooking layout) which I started last night. I haven't scrapped in weeks so i did something simple to warm up. Quite happy with the result even though the title needs some modification.

Still hunting for a maid, and it's not easy. I have interviewed many university graduates and straight A scholars before but I cant get the interviewing of a junior high maid correct. Hmm. I hope I can find some good bio-dates this weekend!

Till the next post (and goodnews regarding the maid, i hope).

Back....

Am finally back from Bangkok and a week of hectic activity with some business partners. While it was mostly touring Bangkok, did manage to do some shopping (little!) and got my hair highlighted. Joining a tour also meant I found out a lot more about BKK than just MBK and Central Chidlom. My newest favourite haunt is Suan Lum Night Bazaar, great finds there !

On the way back, our flight SQ67 was delayed by 4.5 hours. So much for flying SQ. The delay I felt was badly managed. Finally reached back at around 12 midnight and elated to see my two kiddos still awake waiting for me at the airport! While a break was good (at least I got to watch KrisWorld uninterrupted), I really missed them!

Back home, more surprises awaited me. Felt like firing my maid, but was fired by her on Sunday night instead. Hahah. Well, at least that means I don't have to pay for her air ticket back. Was really mad with her at the agency. Really blew my top. But enough about that. Still thinking if I should get a new maid, or not. But Ryan's going to go to school for maybe 2-3 hours more each day starting Oct.

I still feel i need to recuperate. gotta go now...

Sleep...interrupted

I had a terrible night of sleep last night. Firstly, I was "so tired that I couldn't even sleep" (to quote from one of my favourite songs Runaway Train", then when I did, the 2 kids squeezed me relentlessly. Ryan relentlessly followed me everywhere, even when I thought he was in a deep sleep.

Now I feel like I need major recuperation. Chelsea & Aaron are now bickering over a set of clothes in the office which I changed Chelsea into cos she accidentally wet her uniform. They can never stop, really. I wonder when it will. 2 yrs, 5 yrs, 10 yrs down the road? I don't remember bickering with my cousins like that. Maybe like the taxi driver who drove me yesterday said, kids today are different from 20 yrs ago.

Gotta go, WHINING BEGINS!

Errands

Had a number of errands to run today; sending dh's car in for servicing (yes, it DID NOT get done yesterday), calling the lighting system guy to fix some lights in the house (the dining room lights COULD NOT be switched off last nite); settling last minute stuff for the office Singapore/Bangkok retreat starting this Sat, and the usual picking and sending of kids.

Chelsea has developed a rather bad cough with phlegm and I hope she gets better soon. They just seem to cross-infect each other. Hmm and Ryan has been battling with his runny nose for like the longest time.

Managed to scrap one page last nite, and one that i am happy with! Well you'll get to see it, once i get down to taking a pic of it and posting it here. haha.

I gotta go soon...pick up the car from servicing.... and later to supermarket to get stuff for the office retreat!!

Hello

This is a blog of my life as a mummy and hopefully everything else about me (that I want others to know of course). This includes of course, my kids, my friends, my hobbies, and my grouses...and anything else that comes to mind! I love writing, so I hope I have fun with this, and I hope you do too.

Cast of Characters / Today..

Thought that I'd introduce everyone to the cast of characters who'll be featured most frequently:

DH - that's "dear husband" or "damn husband" depending on the situation
Chelsea - my sweet daughter aka Invisible Woman, for now.
Ryan - my happy son, aka Human Torch for now
Aaron - my gregarious nephew, aka The Thing/Red Ranger/Red Gransazer for now
Ting2 - my capricious niece aka Emma (nothing to do with Fantastic Four)
Lisa - my sister
Mum/Dad - self-explanatory aka my bosses at work (haha)

That said, we can get started on my thoughts today, at least.....

This morning, I sent Ryan to school and he was fine until we entered the gate. Then he started whining and then crying. I think partly cos he was out of school a couple of days last week, out at the zoo with us, or sick. Sigh, each time he gets used, something happens and he has to get used to going to school again. It really pains me to leave him when he's bawling for me, but yet I know I have to. Hmm.

Chelsea, Aaron and Ting2 are in the office with me, with Ami (Lisa's maid) today. Soon I will have to go home. Ting2 has already asked for milk! Half an hour after they finished their porridge, they are asking for biscuits. Sometimes, can't understand their feeding habits. Anyway they are happily watching Power Rangers on DVD now and leaving me pretty much alone to do anything.

Later..I have to send dh's car in for servicing. Tonight, Lisa's staying over to scrap! I've alraedy decided what picture to use and the layout (pending any changes of mind before 10 pm tonite!) Am excited! I enjoy scrapbooking, but I find I can only scrap when inspiration strikes. The past few weeks were a drought but i just got new stuff from Wen Sing and Pictures2pages, so am raring to go. Plus, Lisa's brought most of her stash over and she has A LOT. haha!
